What is HCRN?
The Hackney Community Response Network (HCRN) was created to bring together residents, voluntary organisations, community groups, faith organisations, businesses and public services into one connected network, strengthening how our communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Rather than organisations working in isolation, HCRN provides a shared framework for collaboration, communication and practical action, ensuring local knowledge, trusted relationships and community assets can be mobilised quickly when they are needed most.
Developed by The CoHub through our community resilience work, HCRN is now helping shape a more connected approach to emergency preparedness across Hackney, with growing interest from organisations beyond the borough. Together, we're demonstrating the vital role that communities play in building resilience long before an emergency happens.
HCRN is being developed in partnership with London Borough of Hackney, alongside community organisations, residents and emergency planning partners to create a borough-wide approach that is practical, inclusive and community-led.
Further information, partner resources, and HCRN membership will be launching in Autumn 2026. Watch this space.

Our Philosophy
Community resilience isn't built during an emergency. It's built every day through trusted relationships, shared responsibility and neighbours who are ready to help one another."
