Training & Workshops
Building confidence. Building competence. Building safer communities.
The CoHub delivers a structured programme of training and workshops for:
-
Community Shapers
-
Local residents
-
Voluntary & community sector partners
-
Frontline practitioners
All sessions are free to attend, and participants receive a Certificate of Completion following each training.
We believe community infrastructure should be skilled, informed and confident.
Shaper Development Pathway
All Shapers receive:
• A structured induction
• Role-specific guidance
• DBS
• Ongoing development opportunities
Shapers are offered accredited or recognised training including:
• First Aid
• Safeguarding
• Mental Health First Aid
We do not send volunteers into community spaces without preparation. Capability matters.
Open Training for Residents & Partners
Our wider training offer is open to:
• Residents
• Volunteers
• Grassroots leaders
• VCS partners
Some sessions are delivered directly by the CoHub team. Others are delivered by specialist external partners and may offer accredited learning.
Coming Up in 2026
Our 2026 programme includes:
• Intergenerational Abuse
• Disability Abuse
• Cyber & Financial Abuse
• First Aid at Work
• CPR
• Emergency & Trauma Training
• Safeguarding Awareness
• Mental Health First Aid
• NHS Apps: Train the Trainer

And more. These sessions strengthen both individual confidence and collective safeguarding awareness across the community.
Why It Matters
Training is not an add-on. When residents understand safeguarding, abuse patterns, digital risks and emergency response:
• Harm reduces
• Confidence increases
• Early intervention improves
• Communities become safer
Knowledge is preventative infrastructure.
