Terry Found His Rhythm Again
Terry's Story
Terry came to the CoHub after losing his wife to illness.
A retired cruise ship entertainer, he had spent a lifetime surrounded by people, energy and performance. But after his loss, everything changed. The days became quiet, his routine disappeared, and he found himself increasingly isolated.
Terry first came along to a Rough Street drop-in session - just to get out of the house. He stayed for the community lunch. That one decision became a turning point.
From there, Terry began to reconnect:
-
Joining the Men’s Group and building relationships with others
-
Taking part in Insight Labs, sharing his voice and experiences
-
Becoming a familiar face at the Hub, staying longer and getting involved
Alongside this, we supported Terry to regain access to practical services that made a real difference to his independence:
-
Reinstating his London Taxicard
-
Reactivating his Dial-a-Ride access
These weren’t just services - they gave Terry his mobility, confidence and freedom back.
Today, Terry is part of the community again. He’s connected, contributing, and rediscovering a sense of purpose. What started as “just popping in” became something much bigger.
A space, a meal, a conversation - and a rhythm found again.
