Haila was first referred to the CoHub for support with a Council Tax issue.

Like many residents, she arrived with one specific problem to solve. But as we worked together, it became clear there were other pressures affecting her household too - particularly rising energy costs.

Working alongside our partners at Citizens Advice, we were able to act quickly. Between us, we supported Haila to get her energy meters changed and helped secure a significant reduction in her household bills, creating long-term savings and reducing financial pressure for her family.

 

Along the way, we were also able to provide food support when it was needed.

The impact didn't stop there.

More recently, Haila's son attended our Hackney Opportunity Fair, where he connected with employers, training providers and education opportunities that could help shape his future.

Haila's story reminds us that support is rarely about one issue.

 

A Council Tax query led to lower energy bills, practical household support and new opportunities for the next generation.
